Foot & Heel Pain: An Overview
One of the most common types of foot pain in adults is found in the heel.Foot heel pain can be the result of exercise and even normal daily activity. The heel bone happens to be the largest bone in the foot. It is also the part of the foot that first contacts the ground while walking.
Pain in heel of foot generally originates from two different places in the heel of the foot. One part is called the plantar fascia. It's a band of fibrous connective tissue and is located on the bottom of the foot. The next place is called the flexor digitorum brevis muscle. This muscle is responsible for supporting the arch of the foot and it also is used when the four smaller toes are flexed.
